Roel Haeseldonckx was born 1970 in Antwerp. He started his career as a Corporate Credit Officer at the privately owned Bank Van Breda.
During the 10 years after, he built up an international career at General Electric (GE) Capital (London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam) with various leadership positions in Risk Management, Business Development, M&A, Integrations, P&L Leadership and as Member of the Management Team for Europe, Middle East & Africa (P&L USD 3,2Bn).
In Luxembourg and London, he worked as Managing Director and Partner at Mezzanine Investment Funds including Dam Capital, which was owned by Anschutz Corporation, one of the worlds’ largest privately owned firms, where he focused on investments in Midcap companies.
He was partner at a leading M&A firm for global midmarket transactions and a Senior Investment Advisor of an independent London and NY based FCA authorised investment manager named Ecofin Ltd.
He was President of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club of Belgium and currently Chairmain of the Advisory Board.
He is a Board Member of an alternative advisory & investment holding company and a Managing Director of a German based financial solutions firm.
At General Electric, Roel received the Management Award and two President Awards. As a Cum Laude MSc Economics of Antwerp Business School, he was Erasmus Exchanged at the University of Jena in Germany.
He holds a Master in Corporate Tax of the University of Antwerp Management School and an MBA from the University of Chicago, U.S.A.
